“White Bird”
Special Presentation:
White Bird, starring Helen Mirren, is a 2024 coming-of-age drama based on the 2019 graphic novel of the same name by R.J. Palacio (“Wonder”). The film is about a Jewish teenager living in France during Nazi occupation. The book was once banned as it covers a range of topics including bullying, prejudice, and resilience.
A post-performance talkback to increase awareness and provide information about current Florida book banning bills and initiatives will follow immediately.
