NOWPBC, the faculty and graduate students from FAU Center Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and LBGTQIA members of the Compass Community Center invite you to our program,  What is the distinction between Sex and Gender? What are the issues impacting this distinction?

In recent years this fundamental aspect of our humanness has and continues to emerge for definition, well-being, equality and respect. A knowledgeable panel will discuss in-depth what differentiates a person’s sex (the anatomy of the reproductive system and secondary sex characteristics) from a person’s gender (the cultural roles and identities constructed by oneself and society). It will address the basic biology and complex societal factors that are involved in understanding and inclusion.
