Women’s Issues Now, Inc. (WIN NOW) endorses the following candidates because they best represent the National Organization for Women’s Core Values: protecting women’s rights, advocating equal rights for women, championing abortion rights, opposing racism, supporting the LGBTQIA community and working to end domestic violence against women. In addition, a core value for Palm Beach County NOW is judicial justice. [Links to their campaign websites provided; detailed explanations of some of our endorsements below this list]

FEDERAL CANDIDATES IN SOUTH FLORIDA, ENDORSED BY NOW PAC
When a citizen—such as a mother, a father, or an elderly individual—cannot afford legal representation in court, the only saving grace is a caring judge who listens respectfully and asks the right questions of witnesses as needed.
WiN NOW Inc, (Women’s Issues Now) uses this principle in deciding endorsement of judicial candidates. We give our educated choices to voters.
Our sister organization FACTs (Families Against Court Travesties) has been conducting “Court Watch” for almost twenty years in family court and other courts handling dependency, guardianship, sexual assaults and domestic violence.
We have been in the court rooms of incumbents Judge Jaimie Goodman and Judge Debra Stephens and they have met our criteria. They are exemplary individuals who have dedicated decades to the legal profession.
We are also endorsing a new candidate, Henry Quinn Johnson, who has the temperament, kindness and experience to become a fine judge, one we will all be proud of.
For School Board:
Women’s Issues Now, Inc. enthusiastically endorses Virginia Savietto. Her varied and comprehensive experience will bring much to her role as School Board Member.
- With a background in marketing and strategy—and 13 years of experience working with budgets in the county commission system—she has a firm grasp of financial issues.
- As an Hispanic immigrant, arriving in Palm Beach County as a teenager, she has her roots firmly in both worlds, knowing what it takes for any immigrant child to succeed in our school system and thus become an asset to our community.
- As a certified teacher and mother of a child in the public school system, she understands the needs of teachers and children.
We feel that Virginia Savietto is the best candidate for this position..
For Supervisor of Elections:
As our county has had more than its share of election mishaps, it is very important to have someone who not only cares deeply about the voting process but has the ability to create strong and effective changes. Wendy Link has demonstrated this in her time as Supervisor of Elections.
Her crisis management background and her legal experience in the business arena has served her well in this capacity. Her stewardship has been efficient, proactive, and creative.
She is well respected by the strong women leaders in our community for her integrity and leadership; among these supporting leaders are long time NOW leaders Anne Gannon and Lois Frankel.
We need Wendy Link as Supervisor of Elections, so that she may continue to do the excellent job she has been doing.
