SUMMARY:Free Concert and Rally for THE AG RESERVE AND ISRAEL
DESCRIPTION:                           \nWHAT:   Rally for the Ag Reserve and the right to life in Israel\nWHEN:   Monday October 16\, 2023 at 7:00 \nWHERE:  The Movies of Delray on Hagen Ranch and Atlantic Ave                   \nWHO:    All people who support nature\, agriculture and human life\nWHY:     To stand in solidarity to protect our way of life and our values\nI swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor\, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor\, never the tormented.   Nobel Prize winner and conscience of humanity.       Elie Wiesel \nLet’s listen to the horses in the equestrian areas of our county\, hold our horses on new development and use horse sense in the Ag Reserve.  Let’s stop horsing around with developers and pull in the reins on the cancer ofuncontrolled growth. Let us respect our “Neigh”bors\, reject this “Neigh”farious project and just say “Neigh” to replacing farmland with over 1200 homes against the will of the citizens who voted to preserve agriculture\,natural areas\, the aquifer and our quality of life in Palm Beach County. \nWe urge the United States to join the fight to defeat terrorism. Let people of all political parties\, religions\, nations and backgrounds unite in support of human life\, freedom and the right of all people to live together in peace. \nAm Yisroel Chai \nClick here to open and print flyer\n\nPlease join us! This exciting event will be like the last one that was held at the Civic Center on August 9\, but better.  It will have less speakers and will be more focused\, entertaining and inspiring for progressives who could benefit from uniting and networking with others who are fighting similar battles to protect our democracy\, our precious planet and the rights we hold dear.\n\nWe will give our community the chance to take action about critical issues such as signing petitions to protect abortion rights and the Ag Reserve and we will encourage everyone to join groups such as NOW\, the Sierra Club and other progressive event sponsors who are fighting for us all.\nRabbi Barry Silver\nFor more information contact Rabbi Barry Silver at (561) 302-1818 or Barryboca@aol.com \n

SUMMARY:Celebrate Equality Day with PBC NOW!
DESCRIPTION:PBC NOW will honor Senator Tina Polsky with the Alice Paul award celebrating the 19th amendment.\nAugust 26th 1970\, as part of NOW’s nationwide celebration of the 50th anniversary of woman’s suffrage (passage of the 19th amendment to the U.S. constitution)\, tens of thousands of women and men marched down New York’s fifth avenue. The “Strike for Equality” was held in cities throughout America.\n\nThe following year\, Congresswoman Bella Abzug from New York brought a resolution to Congress to designate August 26th as Women’s Equality Day.\n\nSuffragists fought for more than 90 years  for women’s right to vote in America. Women\, we must value our vote. It is so vital that all know our proud history and that we do not take our vote for granted.\n\nAlice Paul was the chief strategist for the 20th century Women’s suffrage Movement. She introduced the United States to nonviolent civil disobedience as a nationwide political strategy. Recognizing that the vote alone would not ensure women’s equality\, in 1923 Alice Paul authored the ERA Equal rights amendment to the United States Constitution.\n\nAugust 26 guest speakers:\n\nMistress of Ceremonies and Former Recipient: PBC Vice Mayor Maria Sachs\nEquality Florida Allan Hendricks\nFormer Recipient PBC Tax Collector Anne Gannon \n\nDress in purple and white as did the suffragists. Complementary refreshments.

SUMMARY:Pro-choice Demonstration Saturday 4:00
DESCRIPTION:Outside Target \n1760 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd · West Palm Beach\, FL\n \n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\nFriends\, in an obscene rush to climb to power on the backs of the women of Florida\, Gov DeSantis signed the 6 week abortion ban* around 11:20 PM last night. \nWe must prove DeSantis so\, so wrong–at the polls and in our homes. \nFortunately we have time to prepare.  The ban does not take effect today.  The FL Supreme Court still has to decide on our constitutional right to privacy.  This could take 2 months. \nWe need to spread the word that the clinics are still open!  Anyone under 15 weeks can still access care.\nWe need to track our periods (on paper\, NOT on software that can be hacked!)\nWe need to have highly effective “morning after pills” (emergency contraception) in our homes and in our daughters’ college dorms.  And a blank prescription for our sons in case they need to help a friend.\nWe need to know\, and tell our community\, what care women will still be able to get after the ban. \nPlease join us (and Women’s March!) for a protest and information sharing\,\nthis Saturday April 15\, 4:00 to 5:30 PM\, at 1760 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd\, West Palm Beach\, FL 33401 in front of the Target store. \nSign up at https://action.womensmarch.com/events/bans-off-our-bodies-defend-body-autonomy?source=rawlink&utm_source=rawlink&share=94605d73-92d0-4018-b4f7-0a4eee92412b or just come! \nBring signs!\nIf you have information to share on other  “next steps\,” please bring it!\nSee you there! \n*** \nWHAT TO BRING ….\n• Signs to wave (if you can)\n• Water \n*** \nFOR MORE ABOUT THIS EVENT or DWC …\nJoan: dwcjoan@aol.com\nShirley: (561) 596-7780\nDemocratic Women’s Club: https://dwcpbc.org/ \n*** \nFOR MORE ABOUT BLAST … toniajr@icloud.com \n*** \nJOIN BLAST PANDEMIC PARTY ON FACEBOOK …\nhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/910190896083857/ \n*** \nBOOKMARK THE BLAST CALENDAR & CHECK IT OFTEN …\nhttps://www.meetup.com/BLASTwpb/events/calendar/ \n*** \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCOVID-19 safety measures\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent will be outdoors; bring water and sunscreen.
