SUMMARY:Red\, Wine\, and Blue: The Challenges Facing Women in the Military
DESCRIPTION:Everyone talks about supporting the troops\, veterans\, and their families\, but our leaders don’t back up that talk with action – especially for our women in uniform. They have faced discrimination\, sexual assault and abuse\, retaliation for speaking out\, and more for decades – way before the current administration made the military environment even more hostile for women and minorities. \nThe situation is not hopeless\, though. People like veteran Katie Chorbak are fighting back – and you can help. \nJoin us for Tuesday\, July 7 at 7:30 PM ET for The Challenges Facing Women in the Military. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKatie is a queer\, female veteran who recently was arrested with her fellow former soldiers for protesting the illegal and immoral Iran war at the Capitol. She joined us on the “How to Not Lose Your Sh!t” to talk about how she’s helping other vets through Our Sister’s Keeper Movement\, which advocates for service members who survived sexual assault in the military\, just like she did. \nJoin us next week to learn what you can do to help stop this decades-long injustice. \nDon’t miss this important event. RSVP now for The Challenges Facing Women in the Military on Tuesday\, July 7\, at 7:30 PM ET. \nOur troops sign up knowing they will have to risk their lives and sacrifice time with family fighting hostile countries and groups. It’s unacceptable that they have to face threats from the people and leaders who should be protecting them. Let’s fight back!

SUMMARY:Red Wine & Blue: THE COORDINATED ATTACK ON WOMEN'S RIGHTS
DESCRIPTION:Through organizing and advocacy\, women won access to education\, the ballot\, freedom to make healthcare decisions\, and increased economic opportunity. But these gains are now being targeted by extremists under the guise of “pro-family” values. This isn’t a fringe movement–it is a well-funded and coordinated plan to take away our power. Join us to hear from the National Women’s Law Center to learn who is behind this effort and how these ideas are shaping policy. Together we can stop this extremist agenda and make sure the next generation has more rights–not fewer. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSIGN UP NOW

SUMMARY:Red Wine & Blue: Banned Book Club is the title
DESCRIPTION:You’re not seeing double. This month\, RWB’s Banned Book Club is discussing … “Banned Book Club” with co-author Ryan Estrada. \nThe graphic novel is a fictionalized account of Ryan’s co-author and wife Hyun Sook Kim’s real-life experience standing up to censorship – and ultimately making her country a freer place – under South Korea’s military dictatorship in the 1980s. \nThe story may have taken place decades ago and thousands of miles away\, but the story of censorship is more relevant than ever in the United States today. \nJoin us as we welcome Ryan Estrada next Wednesday\, July 15\, at 7:30 PM ET to hear about his book\, “Banned Book Club.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRyan is a true Troublemaker who once flew 7\,000 miles from South Korea to Kentucky to challenge a ban on “Banned Book Club.” Book bans are more than just a professional obstacle for him – his partner and her friends were imprisoned and tortured for supposedly being communist sympathizers.  \nIronically\, the book\, which follows a college student who joins a secret reading group\, has been challenged in states like Kentucky and Florida for “anti-police sentiment” and “creating dangerous anarchists in our schools\,” according to one would-be banner in the Sunshine State.1  \nIn the end\, though\, Hyun Sook and her friends helped make Korea a free country. That’s the inspiration we need right now! \nDon’t miss your chance to hear Ryan share the incredible true story behind the book and talk about the importance of defending free expression and fighting book bans in the United States today. \nRSVP now for our July Banned Book Club: “Banned Book Club” with co-author Ryan Estrada on Wednesday\, July 15 at 7:30 PM ET. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP NOW

SUMMARY:Red Wine & Blue: WHY ELECTRIC BILLS ARE SKYROCKETING
DESCRIPTION:Families across the country are opening their electric bills and asking\, “Why are my energy costs so high?” The reasons behind skyrocketing costs are complicated\, but policy decisions made by our elected officials have a major impact on what we pay each month. Join us to hear from experts from EDF Action to learn what’s really driving these higher energy bills. We’ll talk about the impact of growing energy demands\, fuel shortages\, and efforts by extremist politicians to dismantle clean energy programs. Come get informed\, separate fact from fiction\, and take action to fight for an energy system that works for all of us. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSIGN UP NOW
